Advancement in medical science and technologies have brought a great change and improvement in the quality care of the patient. Paper files and documents has been replaced by Electronic Health Record.The physician who created it has the full right to access it and the other health care professionals according to their department of what patient service is taken (pharmacy, laboratory, physiotherapy, ,complementary services, etc.,) The patient can access only certain records and not a complete record during their hospital stay.A copy of the medical record is provided and not the original record.If a patient wants to sue a health professionals or the healthcare sector they can not access the records directly as it is technically secured and maintained. They have the right to the content of health record when finds wrong information.
