●Maternal adaptation word itself describes how a women adapts herself to motherhood.It is a gradual process of accepting changes in the body both physically and psychologically ,thus enjoying the feeling of becoming a complete person after a child birth. The new mother could experience a rapid change in the physiology of the body due to varying hormone levels,pressure exerted bybthe growing fetus on the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urinary system in specific. The alterations in cardiovascular and hematological systems to meet the demands of the fetus .Adaptation occurs with discomfort in the initial trimester. During the second trimester the symptoms like morning sickness,tiredness, weird thought, etc., fades away making the pregnancy to be felt ,realised ,momentised and memorized by a mother. They put and weight and their appetite are good,having a energetic feel making them adapt them easily to the changes during second trimester. In simple it is a form of accepting the baby

The women after coming to know that she is pregnant after expectations, creates an environment which can protect and safeguard the unborn in all ways.Rationale :safety

●Second developmental task

The women accepting the child and trying to bring it to the knowledge of others in the society like family, friends and engagingin socializing the unborn.Rationale :socialization

●Third developmental task:

Here the women is a full mother who tries to create an environment with a full bonding of the mother and fetus after birth.In simple the existence of a mother and infant relationship. Rationale :role of a mother
