Difference between a drug's trade name and a drug's generic name is as follows :-
Trade name:- A trade name or brand name identifies a specific product or name of a company and in some cases brand name becomes part of the everyone vernacular Sach as kleenex (R) to mean tissue. Because of brand name's importance, many companies wants to protect it through trademark. A trademark is a registered trade name or brand name.
Generic name :- The term generic name has several meaning as regards drugs: the chemical name of drug. A term referring to the chemical makeup of a drug rather than to the advertised brand name under which drug is sold.
For example :- generic name for the drug that is used in diabetes is metformin and trade or brand name of metformin is Glucophage. (brand names are generally capitalized while generic names are not).
2. Pharmacotherapeutics :- It is a branch of pharmacology, which is defined by Merriam- Webster " as the study of therapeutic uses and effects of drugs" this is a study of beneficial and adverse effects of drugs.
Pharmacokinetics :- It is the brach of pharmacology concerned with the movement of drugs within the body.
Pharmacodynamics :- It is the study of biochemical and physiological effects of the drugs.
