Case based Experiences

1. Moulage

The art of applying mock injuries for the purpose of training medical or military personnel is called Moulage.

Moulage is an important part of Simulation experience, where the makeup colour, putty, hair pieces, latex etc are using to increase the clinical simulation experience, especially in freshers to nursing profession or Medical profession. ( meaning of Moulage is moulding or casting)

2. Purpose of prebrief

Prebriefing in Health care simulation is a process of planning for the simulation and providing orientation and preparatory information to the participants of the Simulation activity.

Purpose of Prebriefing are:

* To set the stage for a scenario of Simulation- based Experience

* Help the participants to achieve the Objectives of the Simulation based Experience

* To give preparatory information to participants

3.Task trainer

Task trainers are models or simulators that help the learners to acquire skills in various procedures such as intubation, IV placement, lumbar puncture etc. It helps the learners to practice a specific skill, to familiarise with the procedures etc. This gives them a learning environment and confidence to perform procedure on real patient.

4.Simulation Fidelity

Fidelity: Accuracy or exact correspondence to some given quality or fact is called fidelity( faithfulness to ones duties. Simulation fidelity refers to the Simulatio's closeness or approximation to the reality.( how much a simulation imitates the reality).

6.Debrief means ' to inform participants of Simulation about what has happened / done in a complete or accurate manner. It is a conversation and feedback session about the Simulation based learning happened.
