Share an example based on your own experiences where the characteristics of a leader who you worked for had a clear impact on the employees or the organization. Explain why this leader was either effective or ineffective. What are the lessons learned that you can apply to your own leadership development?

The leader of my friend's organization was very effective in leading the team and the organization to greater heights. He could successfully lead the organization even at the most challenging times of the organization. He was a very good team player who was able to support his team during the most challenging times and he could give credit to the team when there is success in the organization. He encouraged everyone in the organization irrespective of their position in the organizational hierarchy. He could instill confidence in every member working in the organization. He tried to retain talents in the organization by way of creating a conducive environment in the organization. The leader allowed autonomy to all the functional units in the organization to come up with their creative ideas. Moreover, the leader I mentioned was a good listener and at the same time a great motivator. There are many lessons that I can learn and apply in my leadership development from the leader I mentioned. The first lesson is the importance of creating and maintaining a team environment in the organization. Along with that, I learned the importance of listening skills in leadership. I also understood the importance of encouragement of team members in leadership. Further, I understand the relevance of the creation of a conducive environment in sucessfully leading an organisation.
