  • Leadership in simple words that the art of motivationg the a group of people to act toward aacheving a common goal.Leaders are people who do the right thing.Leaders help themselves and others to do the correct thing.They are setting some directions,Schedule a vision and also create something new.It also meansdifferent things do different people around the world and different things in different situation.A leader must motivates and inspires people to engage with vision he created.
  • The charectristics of a good leader are
  1. Integrity -Integrity is essential for the individual and the institution.
  2. Ability to delegate-Delegating is one of the core responsibilty of a laeader.delegate the task according to the abilty,it also helps in direction,and decision making.
  3. Communication-a leader must communicate effectievely,it is very important to convey directions and informations..
  4. Self awareness- Self awareness is paramount for leadership.
  5. Gratitude-Giving thnaks is very important for a leader.this can lead to higher esteem.
  6. Learning abilty-This is the ability to do when you dont know what to do.
  7. Influence-This is differerent from manipulation,it requirs emotional intellegeence and trust buildind.
  8. Empathy-Leader must show empathy to direct reports.
  9. Courage-Leader must have the abilty to present a new idea.
  10. Respect-Treating people with respect on a daily basis is important of a leader.
  • A leader can serve as a positive role model through demonstrating that he accepts personal responsibilty for his actions.For instance apologize if he loss his temper,and avoiding blame and looking forward if the company experinces a decline in work.Role model sets an example that others try to follow.They will use their self awareness chraacter to better themselves and develop positive qualities in the group.
  • There are seven leadership styles in common.
  1. Autocratic style-l
  2. Authoritative style
  3. Pacesetting style
  4. Democratic style
  5. Coaching style
  6. affiliative style
  7. Laissez Faire style

Bases of power refers to the methods taht managers and leaders utilize to influenze their employees.They are

  • Corective power
  • Legitimate power
  • Reward power
  • Referent power
  • Expert power
  • Multidimensional power

Employees without goals will be naturally aimless.Provide them with clear acheivable goals and make sure there are measurable standerds in place to evaluate thier perfomance.
