Read the blew article and respond to it using your opinion? Every leadership approach that was mentioned in the book affects employee motivation in different ways. People need motivation in almost every aspect of life. The extra push can go a long way when someone is struggling with their specific task; and every task, depending on the persons personality should be treated in their own way. The leadership approach I chose is The Situational Approach. This approach holds that the effectivé leader shifts his or her emphasis between task accomplishment and member satisfaction on the basis of the specific group situation (DeVito p. 200). The situational approach consists of four leadership styles: telling style, selling style, participating style, and delegating style; and because of this, I found this approach highly effective for motivation in the workplace. Different situations always occur within the workplace, and I found that the situational approach would be effective in motivating each of those situations accordingly The quality of communication would improve in the workplace with the situational approach because the leader is treating every situation as its own, instead of treating them all the same The leader can approach a situation according to its needs by emphasizing what the issue is within that situation. If a different issue occurs within another group, he or she can communicate specifically to that group until the issue is resolved. It would create a closeness, or trust within the workplace due to the leader being able to address situations differently. The employees will realize that the leader takes his or hihvbn her time to evaluate each issue A good example of where the situational approach would be beneficial is within a company Everyone has different personalities and different ways in how they approach their jobs. Some people may need help identifying or focusing on their specific job, and some people may need some motivation in carrying out their job. Whatever it may be, the situational approach can help either one of these issues by applying the four leadership styles to help guide the employee into carrying out their task effectively. Being able to emphasize specific tasks and communicate to different situations will help identify each issue and satisfy the employees needs
