Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition in which the body will not be able to produce enough blood glucose level to function adequately.

The management strategies that a nurse should teach the patient are:

- proper physical activities to be done on regular basis.

- to quit the smoking , drinking alcohol and carbonated drinks etc.

- it is very important to manage ones weight.

- advice the patient to take diet and nutritional counseling.

- advice the patient to take proper diabetic diet and to include proper fibers in the diet.

- lifestyle management is very important as well.
