What is a current event pertaining to the economy that you find interesting? How do you believe this event will impact the economy going forward?
For me, US FED's upcoming monetary policy meetings (next is on Jan 28-29) is the key event and has been very interesting over that last 3-4 months due to the shifts in the tone of the US Fed chairman. This impact is very important considering its impact on the money supply and cost of loans in the economy because more interest rate hikes from current levels might result in decline in investments due to low borrowings on high interest costs which might reduce economic growth.
