Ans) There are three levels of prevention:
• improving the overall health of the population (primary prevention)
• improving (secondary prevention)
• improving treatment and recovery (tertiary prevention).

- Secondary prevention: routine screening for major forms of cancer now exists in many countries, but not in all of them. Screening programmes are not always evidence-based and systemic health checks for non communicable diseases are not routine in most countries.

- Examples include immunization and taking regular exercise to prevent health problems developing in the future. Secondary prevention includes those preventive measures that lead to early diagnosis and prompt treatment of a disease, illness or injury.
