Answer #1

The sanctity of life is a principle of implicit protection about the various aspects of human life inherent from the fact that humans are made in God’s image and should be protected and respected. It applies to issues like abortion and euthanasia, where it is a question of the practicality of theological and philosophical values or theories. Right to Life Act introduced in the house in 2005, is a declaration that the right to life guaranteed by the constitution is vested in each human being. In this act human being is defined in such a manner that it encompasses all stages of life, including but not limited to the moment of fertilization or cloning. Thus abortion became a questionable activity under the theological auspices as well as federal auspices. Terminating a pregnancy even due to fetal inviability became a questionable act or illegal act.

The appropriateness of termination of pregnancy because of inviability can't be questioned because of several factors. The most important supportive factor in this regard is the suffering endured by both the mother and the fetus without proper organ development, which will be in a vegetative state. Thus the child will be a burden and a bundle of sorrow rather than a bundle of joy. The financial status will have a sudden decline in the process of trying to save an inviable fetus based on religious or federal laws. The health and wealth of the mother, sometimes the whole family, will be left in a pitiable condition. The emotional status of the mother will be another issue to be dealt with. What makes these laws a mockery of the sanctity of life is the fact that there are no religious or state/federal laws to support these suffering mothers. Many mothers have committed suicide and many have been living as single parents since the husband left them with their suffering. Many of their viable offsprings had to suffer because of all these. Religion and State are just onlookers when it comes to the suffering of the mother. Sanctity of life is applicable to the mother and her other children also. So terminating a pregnancy due to fetal inviability is the appropriate course of action to avoid such hardships and loss endured by mothers.
