Pharmacokinetics-
Uptake and absorption- the absorption of adrenergic agonist takes place in either of the two forms- uptale 1 where the drug interact at presynaptic level to prevent neurotransmitter and uptake 2 is at postsynaptic level that will provide inhibition at peripheral cells.
Metabolism- it increases activation of adrenergic receptors and increase activities such as lipolysis and increase fatty acid metabolism and enhance gluconeogenesis in liver.
Excretion- these drugs either gets excreted in urine or firther metaboloze into monoamines.
Pharmacodynamics-
it works on mymembrane of cell at onset of about 20 kinutes and peak effect of 3 to 5 hours.
Therapeutic use- used to treat nasal congestion, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, wheezing, cough, bronchial asthma and shortness of breath.
