Answer #1

Check the pulse:

Place your index and middle finger on your wrist, between bone and tendon over radial artery which picture thumb size on your wrist.

Explain results for 15 seconds:

If you count the pulse for 15 minutes, then that reading must be multiplied by four and explain the rate to the patient.

For ex

You counting pulse for 15 seconds and its about 20beats per 15 seconds.

Make 20×4= 80

So your friend pulse rate is 80.

Record for 1 minute:

If you check your friend pulse over one minute, that is considered as pulse rate if your friend.

Example

If the rate is 80 beats per minute, explain to your friend as pulse rate is 80beats per minute

Always checking pulse for full minute considered highly reliable.

You want to measure your resting pulse rate. You might count the number of beats in five seconds and multiply by 12 to get beats per minute. Consider counting the number of beats in 15 seconds and multiplying by 4 to get beats per minute. In what way will this improve the reliability of your measurement? a. This measurement will likely have a smaller variance, since you're multiplying by 4 instead of 12. b. You are less likely to make...
