Answer #1

Tara and Debbie both are teenagers . Tara is an active drug abuser while Debbie is not an active drug abuser but uses drug occasionally . As a counselor I would give more stress to Tara as she is an active drug user which could harm her health . The protective measures which would be explained to Tara to avoid the use of drug would depend upon the factors that contribute her to drug usage .

First of all I would find out the reason behind her drug use and then according to that measures to prevent drug usage will be implemented . The other measures that would be included are :-

- Removal of the causative factor that causing drug use

- Health education

- Explaining the harmful effects of the drugs

- Explaining the social stigma it has

- Counseling

- Rehabilitation

- Involving her in activities which makes her happy and refresh

- Family support and care

Debbie is not an active drug users . Some of the factors which is responsible for her resistance to drug related problem are :-

- Good family support and care

- Knows how to manage stress

- Knows the harmful effects it would cause to health

- knows about the social stigma it might cause

- Have a good friend circle

Yes, my experience with Debbie will be useful in counseling Tara as I can show her a live example of a person who also uses drug but not actively . I can also make a conversation among them to experience the difference between themselves and how to use drugs in a convenient way .
