Did the New Deal end the Great Depression?

New Deal which was the brainchild of then US President Roosevelt is widely regarded as the main factor leading to end of the great drpression. Though it was the most important factor responsible for ending the great depression but not the single factor.

New deal was the series of reforms initiated by the US government after the great depression comprising of social and government spending programs so as to boost the industrial production and improve the growth rate in the economy thus creating jobs. The New deal consisted of reforms in industrial sector, labor movements, social security, finanical sector so as to give a big push to the economy.

But giving all the credit to the new deal program will be a biased decision as other factors also played a crucial role. These included Insuance Act of 1933, National Industrial Recovery Act of 1933 (which dealt with pricng of essential commodities so as to prevent the surge in the price of necessary comodities) and other social security acts also played important roles.
