Disclosure of patient information is highly confidential and private. Concealing patient information can be HIPAA violations. The way of communicating this to the client can be challenging if the patient is angry or in any emotional outburst. The better therapeutic way to respond is by

  • Understanding the emotional status of the individual is important
  • Inform the message in a straight forward way without hiding anything
  • Make sure the client has adequate time to relax and think before making decision use of verbal and non verbal communication at this point can be very effective to remove the anger.
