Answer #1

In this situation patient is rejecting to collect specimen (stool), the reason might be the patient consider that the test is not necessary or feels stressed or confused about collecting three samples in alternative days. Before informing to the physician about patient's unwillingness I would try to convince him /her with proper explanations and supportive education. It includes:

  • I will assure the client the test will not cause any harm to the client
  • Will explain the importance of conducting the test
  • If the client have any false information about the test then I will definitely clarify all of his doubts
  • Convince him that the physician will not order any unnecessary test for their clients. The test will help to diagnose the problem and helps to treatment. So it is mandatory to conduct the test
  • Provide psychological and emotional support for the client
  • Again the client is confused then will inform to the physician and we all sit together and discuss about the client's problem and will solve the problem
