(+4)............(+5)................................................(+6)...........(+2)   ----------> oxidation states.

here :

SO2 is oxidized (sulfur oxidation state changes from +4 to + 6)

HNO3 is reduced. (nitrogen oxidation state reduced from +5 to + 2)
