1.Both the cases are breach in confidentiality of the patient information.The difference in both the cases are the first case was an emergency and the nurse was not aware that Mr Joe would access the hospital system and she had not consented to it whereas the second case Nurse Jill consented to her daughter to use her system she gave her permission deliberately without knowing that the daughter may enter her confidential patient system .

2.Both the cases deals with the ethical principle of confidentiality of the patient.confidentiality is defined as the right of the patient to have an individual identified medical record of the past present and future of any mental or physical health data which is confidential and to be shared only by to the physician,nurses and insurance as and when needed .

Both the cases patients medical records was accessed and viewed by the non authorised personnel which led to the breach in ethical principle of confidentiality.

3.code of ethics affe ts in both the cases is 'The nurse promotes,advocatesand protects the right ,safety and health of patient.

First case Matt S failed to logg out of the system and kept the patient information open for unauthorized personnel to sneak into Which led to sharing of a patients confidential health records.

Second case the nurse Jill permitted shwr daughter to use her professional system again giving unauthorized person to sneak into patients details .

4.The employing institution and the healthcare personnel are liable for penalities as per the civil Rights law .The penality can be $250,000 if the act is knowingly and purposely done to spread the information.Tinformation.The penality can be lower in case of first time offenders and if it has occurred due to negligence and not done will fully.

Whereas the second case was not done will fully to breach confidentiality but the nurse permitted the daughter to use it .
