You are attaining a health history on a patient who does not look you in the eye and gives short choppy responses. What can you do to achieve a complete, comprehensive history on this patient?

If case is serious and history is needed immediately then I would call one of the relatives to know the history but that is not very reliable.

So, inorder to get the history I would call a psychiatrist and make doctor talk to the patient and make him/her comfortable. As soon as patient look in the eye of the doctor and has made that comfort to make a talk, I will start asking questions about the history and this almost works every time.
