You are their clinical instructor and know that they will undoubtedly see patients with varying disorders of renal function. Describe medications you expect they will encounter and what you would teach them about those medications in order for them to administer the medications safely.

Medication Used in Renal function disorder- 1) Erythropoietin (EPO) It's a hormone which is naturally produced by healthy kidney. In Renal failure there is lack of red blood cells. So, Epo injections are prescribed 2) Anti-hypertensives drugs - Prolonged high blood pressure can damage 6700d vessels, heart as well kidney. Medications such as Atenolol, Doxazosin etc. 3) Diuretics – Damaged kidney are not good at producing urine and this causes fluid builds up in body which causes swollen ankles and difficulty in breathing Ong prescribed is furosemide. * Patient with renal failure should get the fluid monitoring. * It is necessary to monitor the patient's potassium levels due to intake of furosemide * The amount of urea present in blood should be measured.
