Answer #1

34. Ordered dose of amoxicillin is 500mg orally twice a day

Available dose of amoxicillin is 400mg in 5ml

Using unitary method :

400mg of amoxicillin is present in 5ml

1mg of amoxicillin will be present in 5/400

Then 500mg of amoxicillin will be present in 5/400× 500

= 25/4 ml

= 6.2ml of available amoxicillin syrup has to be given to the patient twice a day
