Teamwork is a collection of individuals who are committed to working together to achieve a common goal.
I will share my experience of teamwork of my ICU posting . I was given a case of Myasthenia gravis who was from Usbekistan . Language problem was the main issue . We took the help of a translator to provide care to the patient . Second their cultural practices was also a big concern like blood transfusion refusal which was also sort by the help of translator by making them understand it's importance . She was posted to me continuous 2months . Later stages she required plasmapheresis which was also a big deal . Again we took the help of translator to make them understand . And she was send of back after being cured . My role was to provide nursing care in this teamwork which was culturally competent .
It was a team approach including physician , nurse ,dietian , physiotherapist , translator ( main role ) to provide care to the patient who belonged from other country .
Team objective - to cure the patient and avoid complications associated with Myasthenia gravis.
