ENTERAL FEEDING TUBE:

• though nothing can match oral feeding in the maintenance of the nutritional status of the patients,tube feeding is suggested when the patient is not fit to consume food orally.
• Mainly it helps supply the nutrition to your body.
• Types of food feed through the tubes are liquid food,Blending food,commercially supplied polymeric mixture or elemental diet
• Blending food are the ordinary food items which cannot be swallowed are blended to make thin liquid which can pass through Nasogastric tube.
• Elemental diet where the normal foods get replaced by preparation of protein or amino acids,fats and carbohydrates.

Nasogastric tube:
