In Medicare there is a 30 day readmission rule

Some of the quality programs which could have been done to tackle this quality program are

  • Can enroll in Maryland all-payer model which are not included in this
  • Payment adjustment factor section can be reviewed and corrected
  • Regular or periodic internal assessment for readmission rate and ways to avoid it
  • Review the Hospital Specific Report sent by CMS annually and do the necessary corrections
  • Periodic training for the hospital staff to improve quality care
