Terry, a 68-year-old man with no signs of cardiovascular or pulmonary disease, would like to start an exercise program because he thinks that exercise will help give him the energy he needs to mow the lawn and take care of the house. He would also like to get into better shape so that he will be able to play with his 1-year-old grandson. Although he has not been very active during the past 15 years, Terry used to play college football and ran 3 miles at least 3 days per week until he developed arthritis in his knees at age 50. He has not done any resistance training since his football years, but he is willing to do whatever it takes to become more fit.

Main types of exercise are body strengthening exercises,aerobic exercises,body functioning exercises,flexibility exercises.

Aerobic exercises:aerobic exercises is also known as cardio exercise.this exercise would help to reduce the fat in the body .it improves the blood circulation to the heart .so it maintain health of the heart from every disease.eg.swimming,cycling

Strengthening exercise:strengthening exercise are especially for muscle.this will enhance the strength of body muscle so that it can support bone and relieve all back pain or other related pain eg.stair climbing.

Body functioning exercise: this exercise would help to enhance the energy in activities of daily living.person does not feel any tiredness if he does this.eg.weight lifting,push up.

Flexiblity exercise:this exercise would exercise to make the body flexible by making muscles relaxed or loosen.eg.yoga.

Terry is suffering with arthrittis so he should avoid over activity.when he start exercise he should do it slowly then he can increase intensity.otherwise he may have pain.he needs to monitor his pain level during exercise and should stop if pain worses.
