- Dipstick or tablet reagent urinalysis – non-automated for bilirubin, glucose, hemoglobin, ketone, leukocytes, nitrite, pH, protein, specific gravity, and urobilinogen .

- Urine pregnancy tests by visual color comparison .

- Fecal occult blood

- Blood glucose by glucose monitoring devices cleared by the FDA for home use .

- Hemoglobin by copper sulfate – non-automated .

- Ovulationn tests by visual color comparison for human luteinizing hormone .

- Blood count.

- Erythrocyte sedimentation rate – non -automated .

2. Quality assurance is a procedure to assess the quality . In healthcare it is to assess the quality of healthcare services provided and how it's being maintained . Quality assurance is checked by the following :-

- Joint commission

- National Committee for Quality Assurance

Quality assurance practices involves four key steps :-

- Make a quality assurance committee and find out the drawbacks of an organisation where they lack . To improve on thisake new policies ,protocols , agenda's etc

- Spreading the new policies and protocols for the change among the members of an organisation so, that they can adapt to it .

- Evaluate the new policies and procedures developed ,it is working or not etc

- Implement it into daily flow of work and maintain the quality of the services .

3) Principles and steps of professional/ provider CPR :-

1. check the scene and the person

2. if the person is unconscious call 911

3. check for breathing no longer than 10 seconds

4. check for severe bleeding

5. if person is not breathing, give CARE by beginning cpr with 30 chest compressions followed by 2 rescue breaths

# Adult cpr -after checking the scene and person

1. give 30 chest compressions-push hard and fast in the center of the chest at least 2 inches deep, 100 compressions/min

2. give 2 rescue breaths- tilt the head back and lift chin, pinch the nose shut and make complete seal over the persons mouth and blow for 1 second until chest clearly rises

3. continue cycles of CPR, do not stop unless obvious signs of life, and aed is ready to use, another person takes over, you are exhausted, the scene becomes unsafe

4. if breaths do not make chest rise, recheck the airway for any blockages or possible unconsicous.

1. give 30 chest compressions, child: compress the chest using overlapped hand grip or heel of one hand atleast 2 inches deep, infant: compress the chest using 2 or 3 fingers at least 1 1/2 inches deep, compress at a rate of at least 100 compresions/min

2. give 2 resuce breaths, if chest doesnt rise re tilt head and try again

3. continue cycles of cpr until signs of obvious life, and aed is ready, another responder is there, you are exhausted, the scene becomes unsafe.

#. How to use an AED

1. turn on the AED and follow voice prompts

2. wipe the bare chest dry

3. attach pads

4. plug in the connector if necessary

5. stand clear

6. push the analyze button

7. if it says shock advised, push shock button

8. after the shock, or if no shock is advised, preform about 2 minutes or 5 cycles of cpr.

4) Principles of first aid :-

1. Look and treat (breathing, bleeding, poisoning, shock)

2. Keep calm

3. Lay victim down (unless back injury)

4. Treat where found

5. Care for unconscious victim (rescue breathing and check extremities for lack of oxygen)

6. Watch and Treat for Shock

7. Get help! Active EMS (Emergency medical system or 911

8. Treat Wounds and Burns Correctly (prevent infection and keep sterile)

9. Improvise where necessary (papers, sheets, clothing, pillows, etc,)

10. Have adequate first aid supplies
