Understanding what resources are available for vulnerable populations is an important aspect of holistic patient care. Many patients lack access to affordable healthcare, have a low income, poor health literacy and experience difficulty navigating the system. As a trusted member of their healthcare team, it often falls to you, the nurse, to make recommendations and referrals to services within the patient’s local area that could improve your patient’s long-term health modifications. What public resources exist within your community that are beneficial for your patient population? Vulnerable populations are one who needs support in the society to come out of any tragedy or meet their daily needs.Some of the resources available to them are

• The Displaced Children and Orphan fund usually take care of the childrens who are not or separated from their family due to war ,on streets ,physically or mentally disabled children, etc.,They meet the basic needs of childrens like food ,shelter ,education, physical and psychological needs of children.The US Agency for International Development of DCOF program ,USAIDS,NGO,volunteers funds these organizations
• The victims of torture programs serves the people who are physically and psychologically injured or traumatized. They generally covers individual, family, groups .They screen for them and provide rehabilitation, support ,guidance and thus improving the quality of their life.They are funded by State Department Bureau of populations, refugees and migration ,Americans ,USAID, United Nations voluntary fund for victims of torture
• Disability program generally cares for the people who are physically challenged from adults to elderly population aged from 18 to 59 years. They provide motivation, socioeconomic improvement, self esteem building ,etc., to lead a quality life. They are funded by social security disability insurance pr through the Government
