(1) Population is always the bigger set from which we select the smaller sets, i.e. from which we select sample sizes. In this case, it is clear that the sample is the set of 212 members who retuned the questionnaire. So, we can say that the population in this case is the set of all people who received physical therapy in the past 12 months.

So, option B is correct answer

(2) Sample is always sub-part or subset of population, i.e. sample is always a group of some selected items from the population. In this case, population is set of all people who received physical therapy in the past 12 months. So, sample would be the set or group of 212 members who retuned the questionnaire

So, option A is correct answer
