Central nervous system toxicities mostly develop in elderly, with 2 or 3 week of continuous H2 antagonist therapy

The problem can be corrected by

-immediate withdrawal of the drug for 2 or 3 days.

-administer drug aftet obtaining serum creatinine values.

- famotidine 20mg is recommended and causes less CNS effects
