I would want to be a Cardiac Specialist due to the following reasons:

Cardiac, or cardiovascular, nurses are often specialized advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) who work with cardiologists and other health care providers to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care for acute and chronic heart disease patients. Advanced practice registered nurses sub-specializing in cardiology practice as clinical nurse specialists and nurse practitioners under primary specializations, often holding multiple specialty certifications specific to the patient population or other sub-specializations such as acute care.

Cardiac nurses have a high level of education and experience which enables them to diagnose, treat and manage conditions affecting the complex cardiovascular system. They work to promote optimum cardiovascular health among clients through preventive measures including wellness therapy, screening, and stress testing, as well as techniques for preventing and managing disease. They also care for coronary heart disease patients, providing post-operative care to those recovering from bypass surgery or heart transplant.

Cardiac nurses are eligible to provide patients with cardiac treatment during their lifetime, which may include neonates with heart defects or older patients with advanced stage heart disease. We also provide a wide range of services, including: treatment of hypertension, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias and other heart problems Testing and monitoring of heart devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators Carrying out a wide range of cardiac tests, including stress tests, stress echocardiograms, exercise stress tests, PET / dipyridamole stress tests and CT coronary angiogrid tests.
