2. Healthcare professionals can stop bleeding by elevating the part above the heart level. By elevating the hand, the blood flow slows down and applying direct pressure over the wound will help to control the bleeding. Another method to control bleeding is the applying of pressure on the pressure points. Pressure points are located in certain areas on the blood vessels and applying pressure to these points will stop the bleeding. Pressure point on the hand is located on the brachial artery between the shoulder and elbow.

3. Specialized pressure dressings are readily available which applied on the bleeding site to control bleeding. Another widely used agent is the blood clotting powders and dressings. The clotting agent stops the bleeding suddenly. It is easy to use.
