Please answer! what's the effect of students who visit a town on a beach during break such as spring break (disregard it being a COVID-19 year)--during a normal year (economicaly speaking.........) Thank You.

Students who visit a town on a beach during break such as spring break has a lot of positive impact especially on tourism. Most important positive impacts are:

  • Employment - Tourism is a labor intensive sector and hence provides employment to a lot of people both directly and indirectly. It provides employment to locals and less educated or less skilled people can also get a good earning. Students helps in keeping the sector alive.
  • Income - Even though the spending by college students are less compared to families, they also help in income generation as students buy different items and help local shops and all to increase their income.
  • Enhanced transportation systems
  • Heritage conservation also occur
  • Since they are visiting in spring we can say that  the work is often seasonal jobs are on a part-time basis
  • Helps in distribution of wealth
  • They will stay in hotels which helps in increasing hotel tax and sales tax will also increase.
