Surrogacy : The process of giving birth to a baby as a surrogate mother is called as Surrogacy.

Surrogate : Surrogate is the woman who accepts the fathers sperm to be inseminated artificially and carries the baby till the birth. Here sperm may be of donors or the own fathers it self.

Pros and Cons of Surrogacy:

Pros :

• The couples who cannot give birth to the babies can have their own babies through surrogacy.
• Surrogate mothers who are financially in need can be well paid.
• Surrogates can feel pregnancy in their life period for the second phase.
• Supportive laws have been enhanced for the surrogate mothers

Cons :

• Surrogate mothers are physically demanded by the own parents in all conditions during pregnancy and she has to obey the owned parents.
• Surrogate mothers emotionally depressed as their feelings towards the baby is only temporary and those will carried away by the parents.
• Those mothers will be under the parents who owned surrogate mother and she will be in an agreement during that time frame.

Surrogacy is always confusing in United States.Because there are no particular federal laws declared for surrogacy in US.It always depends on the individual states. Paid surrogacy is considered as Commercial surrogacy.Where as unpaid surrogacy is called as traditional surrogacy.All the states of US are not friendly towards surrogacy. Few unfriendly states like New York and Michigan specially need to be legalised. And almost all the states of US states are more friendly towards of Surrogacy (E.g.. New Jersey, Florida etc), Surrogacy was paid nearly 75000 to 1,20,000 $.

Surrogacy should be legalized because this provides a way for the couple who are infertile to have a baby through surrogate mothers.Also dealing with all the issues when both surrogate and parents enters in to an agreement definitely need to have certain laws. Surrogates should also have some laws to protect them against the parents of the baby. So , if this could be legalized globally benefits both families and also surrogates.

Ethical issues :

• The bodies of these surrogate mothers are never considered. Mothers are commercialised.Advertisements will be passed and The privacy of those mothers will be disturbed.
• Mothers who belong to low socio economic class gets much affected.
• The rights and emotional bonding of surrogate mothers and also the children's are never considered.
• Mothers who are financially ill are exploited in favour of money.
