When SARS was a world health issue in 2003, the product suppliers based in Eat Asia such as China, and its neighbours were mainly impacted. Back then China and its neighbours exported mainly primary products, raw materials or semi finished goods, which led to fall in their exports of these commodities. Also, China's contribution to the global GDP in 2003 was a mere 4% of the world GDP.
Not surprisingly, now in 2020 China contributes 17% to the world GDP and also the measures adopted by the governments including Chinese have been much harsher than measures adopted to contain SARS in 2003.
