Answer

An excessive amount of stress can make us debilitated. In a case where you're continually under pressure, you can have physical manifestations, for example, migraines, an agitated stomach, hypertension, chest torment, and issues with your sexual life and sleep. Stress can likewise prompt melancholy, alarm assaults, or different types of tension and worry. Social nervousness can hugely affect your work just like your social life. Stress can likewise prompt some unfortunate propensities that negatively affect your wellbeing. For instance, numerous individuals cope with stress by eating excessively or excessively less.

When I was in university, I started to develop a constant feeling of stress and anxiety which accumulated due to my childhood experiences. I was always an extrovert and outgoing, but back then, I stopped enjoying being outside or around people. Gradually, it formed as anxiety which made it extremely difficult for me to even go out of my room. My room became my comfortable place and eventually, I would stay there for months, depressed without going out which had a serious impact on my academics. It took a while when I accepted the fact that I do need to see a psychologist. I saw myself going down in every aspect of my life each day, every minute. It was also difficult to tell people how you feel when you are dealing with a mental illness, but thankfully, I had very supportive friends and family, who understood me. From finding professional help to following a healthy routine and coping with stress, they were always there. But coping strategies work differently for different people.

Before learning about what coping strategies might work, the first step is to accept yourself, accept the fact that you are not well, and that you will be fine. This is one of the most difficult steps to take. Once you recognize and learn and accept what you are going through, it becomes easy to cope. For instance, when we don't feel well physically and don't know what exactly is going on with our body, we cannot know how are we supposed to deal with it. So, we get ourselves examined. Similarly, while suffering from a mental health issue, it is normal at the same time important to seek the right help. With the right help and a little patience, we can get over it or at least learn how to cope, so it doesn't hinder our everyday life. The first task I was given by the psychologist was to follow a healthy routine but before that a healthy sleep pattern. Once problems like disturbed sleep patterns, irregular eating habits, and unhealthy routines are tackled, it becomes very easy to deal with the major problem. I gave myself time. Of course, meanwhile, you do have to, unfortunately, deal with stigmas. I did want it to be over as soon as possible. But, I was always clear, I cannot climb the whole stairs at once, have to go step by step.
