STRATEGIES TO MANAGE ROLE STRESS AND STRAIN

Role stress and strain always go hand in hand. This stress and strain can impact our health negatively.Strategies to

manage role stress and strain are;

  • Stay Organised

Unorganised work could be an important cause of stress and strain in nursing.To have easy access to the equipments required to complete the task should be organized in a way promoting the work flow.Keep a checklist of the jobs need to be completed in an orderly manner.

  • Burn some calories

Increased work load would make it difficult to find timed for exercises.Increasing physical activity are linked to reduced stress rates.Try to find out some time for exercises.

  • Relaxation techniques

Colouring, spending time with family and friends,and listening to music are some of the relaxation techniques a nurse can do.It helps to prevent a build -up of stress.

  • Proper diet

Proper diet can improve your energy and even calm nerves,mainly whole grains and healthy fibre.

  • Find a mentor

Find a mentor who can listen and guide you during your strainful situations.

HOW TO IDENTIFY EXPERIENCING ROLE STRESS AND STRAIN
