Answer #1

Congestive heart failure (CHF) is the inability of heart to pump adequate blood according to body demands. This condition is preceded by several episodes of angina pain, myocardial infarction, and or heart attack.

As the heart fails to pump blood, the fluids accumulate in the cardiac chambers, lungs, and the other body tissues. The most common sign of CHF is, pulmonary edema (but not cyanosis), which occurs because of a failing heart. It is an emergency situation and requires immediate care. Other signs of CHF include, edema of lower limbs, shortness of breath, and others.

Treatment:

The treatment of congestive heart failure (CHF) includes the drugs that increase the contractility of the heart. Digitalis is the life-saving drug in case of cardiac failure, which increase the cardiac output but decrease the heart rate. The treatment also includes calcium channel blockers, diuretics and vasodilators.
