Values of inhalation toxicity are based on 4 hours test in lab animals.

DMS is in liquid form Nd inhalayion of vapours occurs. So normally LC 50 will be given in mg/ l.

here the LC 50 rat 4 h is 45 mg/ M3.

when we convert to ppm. it comes around 0.045 ppm

when we convert to mg/L it comes to 0.045 mg/ L.

GSS system us testing has 5 categories.

Category 1

LC 50 lesser than or equal to 0.5 mg/ L.

DMS toxicity values is 0.045 mg/L. so it comes under Category 1 as per GHS SDS.

So this is highly toxic when inhaled. Skull & cross bones in

diamond need to be printed along with fatl if inhaled
