As the patient here has NPO and G tube inserted her feedings is doen through these tubes, it is essential to provide discharge and care education and instructuoons to the patient for post-discharge care.

General guidelines for patient here includes-

Wash you hands with soap and warm water before starting the feed, during and for 1 hour after feed sit in the straight chair, cleanse the areas around the tube with water and mild soap, pat the area dry during bathing, keep the disc few mm away from skin, keep the area dry.

Also, in this case instruct the patient what type of food to be consumed through feeding tube, and what consistency to be taken. Usually blendarize the food and then consume it. Food such as salmon, oats, squash, juice, water, puree, kale, beef, potato, spinach etc. can be consumed through a feeding tube.

These teachings are essential for the patient to prevent any complications with the care of NPO and G tubes
