Half life refers to the concentration of a drug reduced exactly half to the actual strength.

Here the drug has a half life of 12 hours ,it means at 12th hour the dose of the drug will be only 50% of the initial dose.

When the first dose is given at 8am (10mg) by 8 pm it will be reaching its half life ,so the concentration will be 5mg.Again when the 8pm(10mg) dose is administered ,the total drug will be 15mg by 8pm

So in the midnight (usually after 6 hours ) approximately by 2 am the amount of drug in patient body will be 7.5mg (15÷2)
