A patient who has a brain injury, or patient with oral cancer or patient with burns of the lower extremities. Patients with brain injury or an altered or reduced level of consciousness and patients with neuromuscular diseases who have a high incidence of aspiration may benefit from long-term enteral nutrition. Patients with head or neck cancer can be benefited from enteral nutrition. Patients with increased metabolism as a result of sepsis or burns and are unable to ingest enough calories to meet their bodies' metabolic needs. These patients may also benefit from enteral nutrition.
