Why does the treatment of health issues still receive the vast majority of funding instead of prevention of health issues?

Answer: Although prevention is better than cure but still people are not concern regarding prevention. This is the reason that there is increased in the number of patients. The lack of awareness as well as information increases the health issues. Hence this requires large amount of funding to treat people.

Smoking and alcohol consumption has become a trend among young generation. It increases the risk of chronic diseases such as hepatotoxicity, lung cancer etc. There is vast increase in the health issues due to this.

The another reason that increases risk of health issue is the lack of physical activities. Due to busy schedule, people are not much concerned regarding their health. Increased consumption of fast food, oily food, caffeinated beverages creates high risk for developing diseases. The obesity is one of the major factor which causes chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and other cardiovascular diseases. Exercising at least for 35 minutes can reduce the risk of obesity and other chronic diseases. So, the lack of proper weight maintenance also contributes in the health issues which leads to increase demand of fund. This is the reason that treatment requires large fund as compared to the prevention.
