GENERAL ANESTHESIA: it is a loss of feeling or sensation in a part or the whole body usually induced by drug And is a combination of medications given to a patient to render a state of reversible unconsciouness,amnesia and analgesia.

LOCAL ANESTHESIA: an injection used make a part of body insensible to pain and stimuli.it includes NERVE CONDUCTION and LOCAL INVASIVE PROCEDURES.

REGIONAL ANESTHESIA; it is a medication to anesthetize a portion of the body such as arm or legs.it includes EPIDURAL ANESTHESIA and SPINAL ANESTHESIA.

EPIDURAL ANESTHESIA: injection into extra dural space between the vertical spines and beneath the ligmentem flavum.it is most commonly used in labor and delivery and analgesic management for surgical patient after surgery.example: fentenyl and bupivacaine etc.

SPINAL ANESTHESIA: injection of anaesthetic agent into the spinal subarcachnoid space.it is used for urology,orthopaedic gynaecology,vascular and general procedures.

we can explain these terms to the patients by indications of anesthesia,pre and post complications,care and preparation for the procedure and explaining them the related images of the technique and bywitnessing to themthe patiebtd who already underwent surgery.
