Hispanics are the most rapidly expanding ethnic group of the United States. They comprise a total of half of the U.S population in terms of immigrants and they are expected to increase by 29% by 2060. The disparities in the obesity prevalence are increasing day by day among the Hispanic black women. Statistics indicate that the burden of obesity among the Hispanic black women is 44.4% in comparison to 32.8% in Hispanic white women. Higher obesity burden among the Hispanic women are basically because of risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, lack of physical exercise and severe depression. Chronic financial stress among the Hispanic black women is another influential cause of increased burden of obesity. It is important to prevent obesity among these people as it lead to greater complexities such as the cardiovascular disease.
