in the book basic nursing about the Nguyen's on Quizlet. whattheoretical knowledge do you need.
Nguyen's Quizlet needs the basics of human physiology , anatomy , biochemistry , pathology and microbiology.With a sound knowledge of all these, one can understand the mechanism of disease process--how does it develop, how does it affect the human body and what to do to reverse the changes in a disease processes.
Physiology deals with the way a human body functions with its different systems,e.g, ( mainly the followings)
(1)the cardiovascular system--dealing with the function of the heart pump and the pipelines of the arteries and the veins, that carry the blood;
(2)the respiratory system - the system of maintaining the breathing , the mechanics of the way that the chest and the diaphragm moves to suck in air and then the way that it gets expelled, the way that human blood excretes the carbon dioxide and gets in oxygen,
(3) the neurological system-that deals with the brain and its control over the thinking process and controlling the muscles to make one do the activities ,
(4) the excretory system- dealing with kidney--the human filter of blood and the skin--that excrets the electrolytes and some of the human metabolites.
(5) the digestive system dealing with the process of digestion and assimilation of the nutrients.
The subject of anatomy deals with the structure of the human that helps in maintaining the different systems described above,
The pathology deals with the abnormalities that develop in the human body, secondary to the disease processes.
Biochemistry is the subject that teaches the chemical process that goes on to maintain the functions of the brain , the heart, the muscles in the way that it is destined for.The nutrition aspect and the metabolism that keeps the body in function.
Microbiology is the subject that deals with the other living organisms-bacteria, viri, fungus, protozoa--that adversely or sometimes beneficially affects the human body functions.
Let us take some examples to find out as how these subjects help us. If a person get diarrhoea --anatomy teaches us the organs that the disease affects( the stomach, small intestine, colon), pathology the changes in the organs( inflammation of the mucosa and submucosa), physiology tells us the normal processes( the absorption of nutrients and water through the mucosa of the small intestine and the colon) that is affected, microbiology tells us to look for the other living organisms ( bacteria, viri, protozoa, fungus) that may cause the issue, biochemistry tells that chemical process ( breakdown of the protein, carbohydrates, fats )that is affected. All these lead us to counter the effects of diarrhoea( fluid, anti infectives, nutrients)
Another example is that someone is loosing sight. Anatomy tells the organ ( eye and the relevant part of the brain)affected, pathology finds out the changes ( ?retina, ?choroid, vitreous , optic nerves, parts of brain )in the organ, physiology tells us the normal process ( activation of the rods and cones in retina and transmission of that signal to occipital lobe of the brain)that is affected, microbiology leads us to look for some organisms( protozoa, virus ) that may cause this, biochemistry tells us the chemical process in the eye and the brain ( the chemical signalling process) that is damaged.

What gaps in knowledge in nursing research do you believe exist? Your recommendations to figure out how to fill these gaps. Thank you.
based on your knowledge of how nursing informatics has evolved over the years, how do you think it will evolve in future? How do you think nurses can prepare for changes in the field?
Think about your goal in nursing education (i.e., teaching in a pre-licensure program or an MSN program, or as a staff development specialist). Then review either (1) the Board of Nursing requirements for nursing faculty in your state (for an academic program), OR (2) the facility requirements for a healthcare setting.
