Intervention Wheel Levels of Practice and Interventions

Identify one system level, one community level, and one individual level intervention that a public health nurse could implement for Tetralogy of Fallot within the context of the 17 public health interventions.

Public health nurses are a qualified professionals worked community area includes schools, clinics,homes. They work in colloboration with individuals, families to protect from illness and to promote health. Intervention wheel explains the scope of public health nurse to practice in individual,family and community level.

The intervention wheel circle composed of colorful wedges with three levels of practices and 17 public health interventions. Three concentric wheels are found inside the wheel. It includes system focused, community focused and family focused.

The outer ring comprises of colors like red, green, blue,orange and yellow. The red consists of surveillance of disease and health event invesitgation, the green consists of referral and followup, the blue depicts health teaching,counselling and consultation, orange includes colloboration,coalition,building and community oganizing, yellow advocacy,social marketing and policy development .

Tetralogy of fallot is a congenital abnormalities comprises of four heart defects commonly occurs at the time of birth. The four common abnormalities includes Ventricular septal defect, pulmonary valve stenosis, overriding of aorta, right ventricular hypertrophy.

The blue wedge depicts health teaching,counselling and consultation. The tetralogy of fallot health awareness is created in the public by explaining the heart defect hoe it occurs and the causes includes alcohol consumption during pregnancy, gestational diabetes, aged mother, viral illness during pregnancy like rubella. Treatment options includes medications to improve blood flow and circulation. Surgical modalities to treat blood flow problems.
