U.S. hospitals must report their compliance with these core measures to The Joint Commission, a health care accreditation organization, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and other agencies.

- The purpose of this program is to familiarize the reader with the core measures and to identify key factors that are assessed. Individual facilities will determin e the method to assure these items are integrated into patient care and outcomes.
