Ventricular fibrillation is a type of cardiac arrhythmia in which instead of pumping the heart quivers due to disorganized electrical activity in the ventricles. It leads to cardiac arrest with loss of consciousness and no pulse. The acute management for this condition involves the Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) a treatment helps in maintaining the blood flow through the body by mimicking the pumping motion of the heart. CPR should be performed. Defibrillation by the delivery of an; electrical shock through the chest wall to the heart. For long term beta blockers is commonly used in people who have a risk of ventricular fibrillation i.e. sudden cardiac arrest (MayoClinic).
