Answer :

The bacteria has three different shapes that indicates the absence and presence of endospores .all together the oxygen in the environment .

It enables the bacteria to survive under extreme / unfavourable conditions

Presence of endospores ensure the survival of bacterium through periods of environmental stress .

Endospores enable bacteria to lie dormant For extended periods ,even centuries .

Bacteria form endospores to survive unfavourable conditions in their suroundings .

Endospore formation is usually triggered by lack of nutrients and usually occurs in gram positive bacteria .

In endospore formation ,the bacterium divides within its cell wall and one side then engulf the other .

  • The presence of endospores in a bacterial culture can be detected by staining with malachite green .because the endospore coat is so tough ,steam is used to enable due penetration .
  • The most important endospore forming bacteria are members of the genera bacillus and clostridium ,both of which are gram positive rods .
